ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County will host its annual Community Seed Swap from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

The event will feature tables for seed savers to share their collections and a kids activity room to keep the whole family entertained. Volunteers from the Master Gardeners of Tompkins County will be available to answer questions.

Participants will have a chance to find and share seeds tailored to local growing conditions. “Go home with lots of locally adapted seeds from other local gardeners,” an event announcement reads, or, “Bring your own seed collection and set up a table to share your abundance.”

No pre-registration is required to join in the swap. Those without seeds to share are asked to bring a small cash donation ($3-5) to support the event.

The swap will take place at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins Education Center, 615 Willow Ave., Ithaca.
