ITHACA, N.Y. — With snow coming down and making an icy commute Tuesday morning, many local schools and services have closed for the day.
A winter storm warning is in effect until 7 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service says the area may see between 5 and 9 inches of snow and up to one-tenth of an inch of ice.
Drive carefully Tuesday. The weather will make commutes at both ends of the day tricky. The snow will become heavy in the morning into the early afternoon. In the afternoon, the snow will mix with sleet and freezing rain and continue into Tuesday night.

As a reminder, odd/even parking is in effect until further notice for the City of Ithaca.
