TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — Snow is on the way and could create some slippery road conditions, the National Weather Service says. A winter weather advisory and hazardous weather outlook are in effect for Tompkins County until Thursday night.

Snow showers are expected mostly after 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service in Binghamton says to expect four to seven inches of snow with wind gusts up to 45 miles per hour.

Weather: Break out the salt and de-icer

The NWS says to plan on slippery road conditions for evening and morning commutes Wednesday and Thursday. The advisories are in effect for Tompkins, Oneida, Seneca, Cortland, Chenango, and Otsego counties.
