ITHACA, N.Y. — Tompkins County Recycling & Materials Management is reminding local residents that trees and wreaths can be recycled.

Most municipalities have programs for recycling holiday trees and wreaths. To find more information, contact your city, town or village for more information. The department of recycling and materials management also has a list here.

Christmas trees and wreaths can also be brought for free to the yard waste area of Tompkins County Recycling an Solid Waste Center, at 160 Commercial Ave., Ithaca. They just ask that all decorations and support wires are removed.
