ITHACA, N.Y. — Two women have been charged with the felony of grand larceny after stealing about $2,500 in beauty supplies from Ulta Beauty at the Shops at Ithaca Mall, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported theft at the store Dec. 17 and were able to secure video footage that showed the two women. The sheriff’s office said the case was left open while they tried to identify the women in the surveillance footage. The sheriff’s office shared photos of the women online and on social media.

At about 5:49 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, the two women reportedly returned to Ulta Beauty. Employees reported them and deputies found them in Dick’s Sporting Goods next door, the sheriff’s office said. The women, identified as Brittany L. Richway, 28, of Syracuse, and Janish A. Williams, 26, of Syracuse, were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and possession of burglar tools, a misdemeanor.

Richway and Williams were arraigned in the Town of Lansing Court and remanded on bail.
