TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — Here’s your official post-Election Day reminder that election signs are recyclable.

Tompkins Recycling & Materials Management said Nov. 7 that political signs, whether made of plastic film or Coroplast®  can be recycled.

“Please remove the wire sign holders or stakes before recycling the signs. The metal sign holders and stakes can be recycled for free in the scrap metal area of the Recycling and Solid Waste Center, at 160 Commercial Ave. in Ithaca. The signs themselves can be recycled as rigid plastics at the RSWC free of charge. Please do not place them in your curbside bin,” they said in a news release.
