Aisha S. Smith, 39, of Ithaca, was arrested July 31 at an inn on the 500 block of Stewart Avenue after the Ithaca Police SWAT team and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office seized two separate baggies of suspected heroin and a .44-caliber revolver-style handgun, according to court records. Field tests conducted indicated the presence of heroin and fentanyl in the seized baggies, records show.

The district attorney’s office is recommending three and a half years in state prison with two and a half years post-release supervision, according to court records.

Smith pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree during a hearing Friday. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered by the court. A date has not been set for sentencing yet.
