ITHACA, N.Y. — Summer is not over yet. The swimming season for Robert H. Treman and Taughannock Falls State parks has been extended for the Saturdays and Sundays of Sept. 8-9 and Sept. 15-16.

In Ithaca, Robert H. Treman State Park‘s natural pool at the foot of Lower Enfield Falls will prolong its swimming hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. In nearby Trumansburg, Taughannock Falls State Park will offer Cayuga Lake swimming from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to  the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. The swimming season was initially slated to end Monday.

The extension of hours for both parks is in effect for the next two Saturdays and Sundays only.

These extended swimming hours are subject to change “due to health and safety conditions,” a news release said. Park patrons are encouraged to contact the park directly to confirm hours of operation before arranging travel plans.
