ITHACA, N.Y. — Due to a new fire hydrant being installed in the area of 232-236 Dryden Road, the 200 block is closed through Wednesday.

The project began at 7:30 a.m. Monday on the 200 block of Dryden Road, between Bryant Avenue and Elmwood Avenue. Work is expected to be complete at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Until then, avoid the area.

Crews will be excavating from the center of the street to the north side of the sidewalk to install a new six-inch pipe from the water main and a new fire hydrant.

Detours: Westbound drivers should take Ithaca Road (Route 366) to Mitchell Street to College Avenue back to Dryden Road. Eastbound traffic should take College Avenue to Mitchell Street to Route 366 back to Dryden Road.
