ITHACA, N.Y. – In its inaugural event, Jammin’ for Justice, a community music festival featuring local and regional music artists from across the cultural spectrum, begins at noon Saturday, August 18, 2018. With a suggested donation of $5-$10 per venue, the festival will take place at various locations on and around Martin Luther King Jr. St. Starting at The Westy and continuing to Southside Community Center, Sacred Root Kava Lounge and Tea Bar, Chanticleer Loft, the Range, and Forest City Lodge. All proceeds from the event benefit the Multicultural Resource Center and Southside Community Center.

Community-Building and Celebration

The Multi-cultural Resource Center and Southside Community Center are vital Ithaca organizations that address cultural and systemic oppression in our local and national landscapes through the power of organized arts and culture. Jammin’ for Justice is both a community-building event and a celebration of the work of these organizations.

“This is an opportunity to fundraise for two organizations that create deep impact, and ripples of impact in our community through the power of organized arts and culture,” said Fabina Colon, Executive Director of MRC. “Celebrate with us. Build community with us. Support two organizations that are doing amazing work and need your support.”

A suggested donation of $5-$10 per venue is requested though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
