ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca police have charged two men with burglary after they allegedly broke into a shop on Franklin Street and stole items.

Police have charged Ithaca residents Matthew Booker, 35, with two counts of third-degree burglary and Maurice Marshall, 47, with one count of third-degree burglary.

The charges are in connection with a burglary that occurred in early June, according to the Ithaca Police Department. On June 9, police say they responded to a commercial business on the 400 block of Franklin Street for a burglary that occurred sometime overnight. Officers found a rock was thrown through the window and electronics and other items had been stolen from the store.

In total, the damage and stolen items amounted to $4,200. After an investigation, police determined Marshall and Booker to be the suspects.

Marshall was located June 22, and Booker was located June 26, police said.

Both were arraigned in Ithaca City Court. Marshall was released on his own recognizance and Booker was remanded to Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $4,000 cash bail or $8,000 bond.
