TOMPKINS COUNTY, N.Y. — Get out and enjoy the weather with community events this weekend.

Here’s a quick look at events with good causes coming up.

Downtown Ithaca Gallery Night

Friday’s Gallery Night series will feature the 12 artists behind the new bike racks around Downtown Ithaca. There will be an awards ceremony at 6 p.m. at the Community School of Music and Arts. After the ceremony, there will be a walking tour of the new bike racks leaving at 6:30 p.m. For more information visit the gallery nights website.

Dryden Dairy Day

Dryden is holding its 34th annual Dryden Dairy Day on Saturday. The event brings together local farmers, organizations and community members for a day of parading and celebrating local dairy farmers.

“Dryden Dairy Day celebrates the many contributions the dairy farmer makes to our lives,” the event’s website says. The community event is a project of the Dryden Grange.

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and festivities will continue in Montgomery Park until 3 p.m.

For anyone who needs to travel around that time, the Dryden Police Department says all main state routes except Freeville Road and many side streets through the village will be closed for about 45 minutes starting at 9:15 a.m. Traffic coming from the north into the village to go to local businesses like Kinney Drugs and Dunkin Donuts will be allowed to pass.  However, people will not be able to travel south leaving the businesses once the parade has started.
