ITHACA— Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to announce the kickoff event for its 2018 Summer Reading Program, starring Moreland the Magician. The event will take place Saturday, June 23, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room.

Children ages 10 and under are invited to join David Moreland the Magician for “Symphony of Magic,” a high-energy, 45-minute-long show packed with music, magic, comedy, puppetry, and audience participation. After the show, Moreland will lead a 15-minute magic workshop, where children can learn a couple of tricks to take home and try on their friends and family.

Also after the show, children will enjoy balloon creations with Cayuga Twister, as well as refreshments and crafts. In addition, children will have the opportunity to sign up for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.

Support for the Summer Reading Program is provided by the Bernard Carl and Shirley Rosen Fund of the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.
