ITHACA, N.Y. — Brooktondale resident Floyd Slater Jr., 26, who has been accused of flashing and harassing women on multiple occasions, has been sentenced to six years in prison for burglary and public lewdness.

Slater was convicted of second-degree attempted burglary and public lewdness. According to the district attorney’s office, in addition to serving six years in state prison, he will also have five years of post-release supervision.

Slater was identified to be the man who masturbated in front of a woman in the bathroom of a dormitory at Cornell University.

Court records show that Slater has a history of exposing himself to women, as well as a past attempted rape conviction. Slater allegedly exposed his penis twice to female customers at Wegmans in the fall. He is accused of doing the same in January in his car at Stewart Park.

He was also suspended from the Sex Offender Accountability and Responsibility Program in January, records state, which is a requirement for his probation. He was serving a 10-year probation term for a 2013 attempted rape conviction. Records state that when Slater was 20, he raped a girl who was 14 or younger.

Judge John Rowley presided over the sentencing Friday in Tompkins County Court.

In a statement, District Attorney Matthew Van Houten said six years was an appropriate sentence due to the “totality of the circumstances and the pattern of the individual’s behavior.”
