ENFIELD, N.Y. – Following a search for a person in Enfield beginning on Monday afternoon, the New York State Police say they have a man in custody as of 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

Senior Investigator Rick Haas say officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute at a residence on Van Dorn Road in Enfield just after 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police say a man fled the scene on foot, resulting in a search which lasted nearly 24 hours. Haas said the man was arrested Tuesday afternoon by 2 p.m.

“He has since been arrested and is in custody, but has not yet been formally charged,” Haas said.

Police are not releasing the name of the man in custody at this time until formal charges are made, but Hass said “charges will be forthcoming.”
