ITHACA, N.Y. — Police released a sketch Monday afternoon of a Collegetown sex abuse suspect who threw a woman to the ground and sexually abused her last month.

Police were called around 10:15 p.m. March 11 after a woman reported being attacked on the 200 block of Linden Avenue, between Bool Street and Dryden Road. She told police she was thrown to the ground by a man who sexually assaulted her. But she was able to fight him off, run from the scene and call for help.

She described her attacker as a white male about 5-feet-10-inches tall, average build, with medium length dirty blond or light brown hair. The suspect appeared to be about 20-30 years old and was clean-shaven with no facial hair at the time of the assault. The woman said he was wearing a black coat at the time of the assault.

The sketch is the result of an IPD effort to solve the crime with the assistance of Cornell University.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact them:
