ITHACA, N.Y. – An Ithaca man has been charged with rape after police say he forced a 16-year-old girl to have sex with him on multiple occasions over the course of two years, police say.

Sethik Howe, 20, is charged with felony first-degree rape and first-degree criminal sex act. An investigation by the Ithaca Police Department led to Howe’s arrest on Tuesday. Police said he forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him several times between 2016 and 2017.

According to court records, Howe made admissions to police in March and apologized in a voluntary statement.

Howe was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
