ITHACA, N.Y. — Cayuga Heights police are searching for the driver of blue Jeep that caused a rollover crash Friday and did not stop.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a crash at 7:58 a.m. Friday on Route 13 southbound near the Stewart Park exit.

Cayuga Heights Police Chief James Steinmetz said a car in the right lane, a Jeep, merged into the left lane into another car, also a Jeep, that was already there, and caused the car to roll over. Steinmetz said the Jeep, which was blue and had a rack on the back, did not stop. Police are searching for the driver.

There was one person in the Jeep that rolled over. She was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse after complaining of back pain.

Cayuga Heights Police were assisted at the scene by the Cayuga Heights Fire Department, Bangs Ambulance and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

ITHACA, N.Y. — Emergency crews responded to a reported crash Friday morning on Route 13.

A crash involving at least one car was reported at 7:59 a.m. on Route 13 southbound near the Cayuga Heights exit, a Tompkins County dispatcher said.

At about 8:45 a.m., traffic was still backed up and the scene was being cleared after at least one person was transported by Bangs Ambulance.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, Cayuga Heights Police, Cayuga Heights Fire and Bangs Ambulance responded to the crash.
