ITHACA, N.Y. — Want to join a great team of people looking to make a difference in the community? The Ithaca Voice is looking for someone to join our squad and lead our business mission.
The right applicant should be knowledgeable about the Tompkins County area and have an interest in developing innovative business models that could help non-profit news be successful.
The new director will be a major part of our staff, filling the shoes of Co-founder Mike Blaney, who has worked to make The Ithaca Voice financially thrive since its inception in 2014.
Blaney is leaving The Voice to move to Cincinnati, Ohio to be with his significant other.
He said, “Choosing to leave this place and this organization is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. Ithaca has been my home for nearly a decade now, and I’ve seen The Ithaca Voice grow from two guys in a coffee shop back in 2014, to a full team of amazing journalists today. I’m grateful to know that whoever we hire to take my place will be supported by the best news team around.”
We will be accepting applications for the position until March 16 and the right candidate should be able to start the role by the end of March for some on the job training.
