ITHACA, N.Y. — A woman was reportedly hit by a TCAT bus in downtown Ithaca Saturday evening.

According to a witness, the woman was hit by bus No. 51 around 5:31 p.m. as it was turning left from South Albany onto West Green Street.

The bus driver assisted the woman while Ithaca Police officers, Ithaca Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance rushed to the scene. The woman appeared conscious at the scene and was treated by first responders in a Bangs Ambulance.

It’s initially unclear exactly what happened, but the woman was on the ground just a few feet from the crosswalk.

While the roadway was blocked off immediately after the incident, a Tompkins County dispatcher said the scene was clear by 6:50 p.m.

This is a developing story.
