LANSING, N.Y. — One person sustained minor injuries in a crash Tuesday involving a car and tractor trailer outside the Shops at Ithaca Mall in Lansing.

At about 3:37 p.m. Tuesday, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision by the entrance of the Shops at Ithaca Mall. Deputies found a tractor trailer and sedan had crashed at the intersection of North Triphammer and West Graham roads.

Both vehicles were disabled due to the damage and the intersection was closed for more than two hours.

The sheriff’s office said the tractor trailer was headed north on North Triphammer Road and was turning left onto West Graham Road when a sedan traveling south collided with it.

There were two passengers in the sedan at the time of the crash. The operator sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from a local medical facility and the other passenger was uninjured, according to Lt. Dan Donahue of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office. The one occupant of the tractor trailer was not injured.

On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said the tractor trailer driver was ticketed for failing to yield to oncoming traffic.

New York State Police, the Lansing Fire Department and Bangs Ambulance assisted at the scene.
