LANSING, N.Y. – Police are currently investigating a bank robbery which occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the Cornell Federal Credit Union in Lansing.

Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of a robbery at the CFCU, located at 99 Sheraton Drive, just after 4:30 p.m.

Police say upon arriving at the scene, CFCU employees and other witnesses in the bank at the time of the robbery provided a description of the incident and the witness.

Witnesses say the suspect entered the credit union and approached employees while displaying a handgun and demanding money. According to reports, the suspect then fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash. Police say the suspect was last seen running Northeast on Sheraton Drive.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black face mask, khaki pants and dark shoes.

Police say video surveillance of the incident will be available following processing.
