ITHACA, N.Y. – A Ulysses man was indicted in Tompkins County Court on Thursday after police found multiple forms of child pornography in his possession.

Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Chadd M. Carr, 37, just after 10 a.m. on September 16 after a woman who knew the defendant told police that Carr had multiple forms of child pornography hidden in his home. According to her voluntary statement, the woman said Carr, a registered sex offender, had a burned DVD hidden underneath his video games with images of children alone and in bed with adults. According to court documents, the woman said she thought the children in the images were no more than eight years old.

Upon arriving at his residence in Ulysses, police said Carr voluntarily handed over a Samsung flip phone and admitted there were at least 47 images of child pornography on the device.

After searching his home, police said they found “obscene” images of children under 16 years old on the flip phone and also found a burned DVD labeled “my porn” hidden with other DVD’s and video games. According to the police report, at least 32 images of minors were found on the disk.

Carr was indicted on five counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony.
