ITHACA, N.Y. — The 11th annual Porchfest is happening this Sunday throughout the Fall Creek neighborhood in Ithaca.

Porchfest was started by Fall Creek residents Lesley Greene and Gretchen Hildreth in 2007 and has grown from 20 performers the first year to more than 200 last year. Porchfest has also spread to more than 55 cities in the country.

Among the Porchfest celebrations happening locally is the one in Trumansburg, which launched its inaugural event this summer with more than 40 bands performing throughout the village.

This year in Ithaca, 176 bands are currently booked, and the final map indicating which bands will perform where and when they’ll be there is expected to be released later today. It can be found at the Facebook page here.

The performances will happen on the porches of designated homes throughout the neighborhood.
