ITHACA, N.Y. — A Syracuse woman is facing charges of petit larceny and weapon possession after a theft at Chuck’s Mobil early Saturday morning, Ithaca police say.

At about 4 a.m. Saturday, Ithaca police responded to a reported theft at Chuck’s Mobil on West State Street in Ithaca. The store clerk told police that a woman had fled the scene and provided a description to officers.

Police located a suspect that matched the description on the 1000 block of West State Street. Officers also say they found an illegally possessed hand gun on Burgess.

Police have identified the woman as Allison J. Burgess, 36, of Syracuse.

Burgess was charged with petit larceny and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony.

Burgess is in IPD custody awaiting arraignment.
