ITHACA, N.Y. – A Syracuse woman was arrested on Saturday after police reported a loaded firearm in her possession after she was pulled over for allegedly stealing from Chuck’s Mobil Mart

Around 4:08 a.m. on July 22, a suspect was reported for allegedly stealing from Chuck’s Mobil Mart on 540 W. State Street. The suspect allegedly took a 16-ounce bottle of Dr. Pepper from the fridge in the gas station and left the store without paying for it.

Allison J. Burgess, 36, was pulled over on the 1000 block of W. State Street shortly after at 4:16 a.m. Officers from the Ithaca Police Department reported stopping Burgess upon suspicion of stealing from the gas station.

While searching her purse, police say they found a functioning Rohm RG10 revolver in her possession. The revolver was allegedly loaded with one .22 long rifle cartridge.

Burgess is charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and petit larceny. She is scheduled to appear in Ithaca City Court on July 26.
