DRYDEN, N.Y – A Freeville man was arrested Tuesday night after police say they found 13 bags of cocaine in his car during a traffic stop.

At around 6:10 p.m. Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies reported that they stopped a red Honda on Dryden Rd. in the Town of Dryden, which appeared to have an exhaust violation.

Police say they identified Eliud J. Nieves Jr., 42, during the stop who was found in possession of a “small quantity” of marijuana and 13 bags of cocaine.

Nieves was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, unlawful possession of marijuana, and additional traffic violations.

Nieves was arraigned at the Town of Dryden Court before Judge Jules Ravo and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a court re-appearance on June 28 at 4 p.m. in Dryden.
