ITHACA, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man was flown to a regional trauma center after falling from a second-floor balcony Friday night.

Ithaca police said in a news release that they responded at 11:06 p.m. to a home at 317 S. Cayuga St.

At the residence, police found Thomas Hilchey “unconscious on the ground bleeding from ears and nose but breathing.” He was transported via helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and his family has been notified.

Police said the fall appears to have been accidental, but officials are still investigating the incident.
