ITHACA, N.Y. — TCAT bus riders take note of some changes this Sunday and Monday. Cornell University’s Commencement will cause a detour to Route 51 and TCAT will not be operating on Memorial Day.
On Sunday for Cornell’s Commencement, Route 51 will be on detour all day. Route 51 outbound and inbound will be on detour using Mitchell St., Ithaca Rd (Route 366), Maple Ave, to East Hill Plaza. This route will not be able to make bus stops along College Ave., Collegetown, Central Campus or Tower Rd, TCAT said.
TCAT will provide service to Sunday’s commencement at Schoellkopf Field from both A Lot and B Lot and designated campus parking lots from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, a campus shuttle will provide bus service to and from West Campus. For detailed information, visit https://commencement.cornell.edu/May/parkseat.html
All other routes will be operating normally.
TCAT will not operate service and administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 29. Memorial Day is one of five days out of the year that TCAT does not operate. There is also no service on Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
Service will resume and offices will reopen Tuesday.
CORRECTION — An earlier version of this report said on Sunday, TCAT would provide service to TRB/ or K Lot. However, TCAT will only provide service from A Lot and B Lot and designated lots. See more information here.
