ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca police have charged a man with two felonies after serving a warrant on a Floral Avenue apartment. Police allegedly found a large amount of cocaine and cash, and materials “indicative of narcotics sales.”

Kevin E. Winston, 44, of Ithaca, has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

At about 4:45 a.m. Friday, members of the Ithaca Police Department SWAT Team and Investigations Team, and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at an apartment at 390 Floral Ave.

Police said they secured the residence and two occupants, including Winston. While searching the apartment, police said they found 19 grams of crack cocaine, more than $14,000 cash and packaging materials and scales “indicative of narcotics sales.”

This is the third location searched on a warrant this week in Ithaca. On Tuesday, police executed narcotics search warrants at two locations on the west side of Ithaca, reportedly turning up “drug paraphernalia and other items indicative of narcotics sales.”

Winston is awaiting arraignment.
