ITHACA, N.Y. — A man under the influence of drugs or alcohol caused a crash in Ithaca and was subsequently found with heroin, police said.

Dylan T. Vincent, 23, of Newfield, is accused of crashing his vehicle around 4:30 p.m. on March 4 on the 400 block of Bostwick Road. Police said Vincent was not injured during the crash but officers determined that he was under the influence at the time of the crash and he has a suspended license.

Vincent was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to use designated lane, speed not reasonable and prudent, no seatbelt, and unsafe tires.

He was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ithaca Court on March 22.
