ITHACA, NY — The Rook is kicking it up a notch with a series of brand new late-night specials, weekdays from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Since their opening last January, late-night food and drink have been an integral part of business at The Rook. The bar and kitchen are both open until midnight, offering fare to folks looking for quality food after 10 p.m.
Now, the week begins with Tiki Tuesday. Every Tuesday after 10 p.m., diners can enjoy a rotating selection of tiki food and drinks. $12 tiki plates have recently included items like sesame steak skewers, spiced duck wings, fried plantains and Spam musubi. Drinks include tropical favorites like the Mai Tai, Hurricane, and Corn & Oil, made with house-made classic tiki ingredients like orgeat and falernum.
Wednesday nights bring “Fried Chicken with Friends” Wednesdays. Diners can get eight pieces of The Rook’s infamous duck-fat fried chicken (that’s a whole chicken!) along with four Pabst Blue Ribbon 16 oz. cans for just $30. It’s the perfect excuse to get you and your friends out of the house on hump day.
The week concludes with “Date with Dates” Thursday. Regulars in-the-know have long had a special love for The Rook’s grilled dates, which are stuffed with goat cheese and marcona almonds, wrapped in bacon, skewered, and grilled up to crispy perfection. On Thursdays after 10 p.m., get an order of dates and any of The Rook’s selection of eight wines by the glass for $10. The Rook also offers 15% off any bottle of wine all night long, which is an excellent excuse for a Thursday night date.
You’ll find The Rook at 404 W. State Street, in the former home of the Fine Line Bistro. They offer Modern American food and drinks in a down-to-earth atmosphere. The Rook is open Tuesday through Saturday 5 p.m. – midnight. Full dinner is served from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m., followed by a late night menu from 10 p.m. – midnight. The late-night menu features items like salads, grilled pizzas, and duck-fat fried chicken. More information and the latest food and drink menus can always be found on The Rook’s website at rookfoodanddrink.com.
