ITHACA, N.Y. — A heavy overnight snowfall has led to two-hour delays at schools throughout the Ithaca City School District and Newfield Central School District.

The National Weather Service is reporting that at least five inches of snow are expected have fallen in Ithaca by about 9 a.m., prompting a hazardous weather outlook.

High temperatures Thursday are expected to be around 20 degrees, but the wind chill value will be about zero degrees.

While the heavier snow is predicted to wrap up by the late morning, some snowfall is expected to persist through Friday.

This is a developing story. The Voice will update it if there are major weather changes.
