ITHACA, N.Y. — A man charged with attempted rape is alleged to have attacked a young teen over the weekend, court records show.

Ray J. Dennis, 47, is charged with felony first-degree attempted rape and is currently being held on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.

According to court records, Dennis grabbed a young teen by the arm, pushed her to the ground and pulled off her pants and underwear. He is alleged to have also pulled down his own pants and tried to illegally have sexual intercourse with the girl.

Dennis was arraigned at the town of Ithaca court and is scheduled for a felony preliminary hearing Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
