On December 14 at about 11:56 p.m. Ithaca Police Department officers responded to the report of a Robbery in the 100 Block of Linden Ave. The complainant called the police after she and the two males she was walking with were approached from behind by a person who initiated physical contact and demanded everything they had.

The altercation went to the ground as the two male victims fought with the assailant. He was unsuccessful in retaining the victims’ property. The suspect disengaged and then fled in a car with two others.

The victims provided the 911 Center with a vehicle description and direction of travel. Minutes later officers located a vehicle fitting the description near the scene. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted and three suspects were detained. Robert J. Porter, 26, of Oakwood Road in Ithaca, was arrested for felony third-degree attempted robbery and held for arraignment.
