UPDATE (9:45 p.m.) — A third person has been arrested in connection with the Newfield murder case.

Roy Clements Jr., 39, of Ithaca

Roy Clements Jr., 39, of Ithaca, has been charged with second-degree murder. Clements was arraigned Sunday in Newfield Town Court where he pleaded not guilty.

Clements has been remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail. He will reappear in court at 1 p.m. Friday for a felony preliminary hearing.

Clements was represented by attorney Charles Wolff, however the man requested another attorney.

No one from the district attorney’s office was present.

Two women have been charged with murdering a Newfield man early Friday morning,  police confirmed Sunday.

Colleen McColgin, 37,  and Jamie Gerhart, 38, are both charged with second-degree murder.

Camden Rundell, 30, was found dead at 5:02 a.m. in his yard about 100 feet from his front door. A 911 caller initially reported to authorites that Rundell was suffering from cardiac arrest. He was dead when first responders arrived. Authorites spent more than 15 hours at the scene of the crime, taking photos and collecting evidence. Officials said Friday that they interviewed one women who was at the home when they arrived and believed other people may have been at the home when Rundell died.

Rundell’s death was immediately determined by police to be “suspicious.” Police said the death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy Saturday. Lieutent Dan Donahue, of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department, said officals were unable to intially confirm whether Rundell had obvious signs of injuries Friday.

Both women were arraigned in the town of Newfield court in front of Judge William Chernish. They’re being held without bail as of Sunday afternoon.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is not revealing the cause of death yet, Lt. Daniel Donahue said Sunday.
