The Weekly Gem

The weekly gem will highlight a special Ithaca location that the Ithaca & Tompkins County Visitor’s Center thinks you really need to see!

Handwork, Ithaca’s Artisan Cooperative was started in 1976 by 12 local craftspeople. Working together they could afford the cost and time of opening a retail shop to sell their work. A true cooperative, Handwork is owned and staffed by its members. Handwork now has 45 member artisans doing a range of work that includes pottery, woodworking, glass, jewelry, fiber arts, wearable arts, leather, dried florals, paper, fine art and photography.
