ITHACA, NY — The Cornell University College Republicans have announced that former presidential candidate and senator, Rick Santorum, will appear tonight as Cornell University’s fall speaker.

According to the announcement made by Cornell Republicans, Santorum’s speech will focus on “his experiences in politics and his views on America’s political future, with particular emphasis on the upcoming four years.”

There have been some negative reactions following the decision upon Santorum for this years speaker. The Cornell Daily Sun recently published a letter to the editor, written by a Colgate University professor, where she criticized the choice despite “the present dangerous national climate.”

Santorum will speak tonight at the Alice Statler Auditorium at 6:30 PM. Doors will open at 6 PM, and the event is free and open to the public. The speech will be followed by a question and answer session.
