ITHACA, NY – Under the direction of Cindy Reid, the Ithaca Ballet opens its Family oriented and animal friendly Fall show with Peter and the Wolf and Carnival of the Animals.

With narration by Sir John Gielgud, Peter and the Wolf is set to the highly popular score by Sergei Prokofiev, and tells the tale of a boy who goes hunting for awolf and encounters various animal friends. This production, featuring original choreography by Lavinia Reid features Lily Cheek as “Peter”,

Allen MacNeill as Grandfather, Robin Karlin the Wolf, Rachel Myers the Bird, Alison Ke the Cat and Ayla Naghsh is the Duck.

Everyone loves the many animals with their descriptive musical themes in Carnival of the Animals.  This ballet is choreographed by Lavinia Reid to the famous score of Camille Saint Saens.  Young audiences will be enchanted by the monkeys, wild horses, birds, and many more animals. Featured dancers are Rachel Myers and Trenton Loughlin-Weidemann as the Swans and new Company Soloist Hilary Sanders as the Cuckoo.
