Update at 8:40 p.m. — The missing person alert for Ithaca College student Kristin Jannotti has been canceled as of 8:40 p.m. Friday.
A Tompkins County 911 dispatcher, who is in touch with a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy, said the search had been called off but could not provide further details.
The deputy has not returned requests for comment directly to The Ithaca Voice. We have reached out to Lieutenant Dan Donahue about the incident and are awaiting a response.
Social media posts indicate that she may have been found safely out of state, but none of those posts could immediately be independently verified by The Voice.

ITHACA, N.Y. — An official confirmed Friday night that police are looking for an Ithaca College student who was reported missing Thursday.
A Tompkins County 911 operator, who is in touch with a Tompkins County Sheriff’s Deputy, confirmed that Kristin Jannotti is in fact still missing a of 7 p.m. Police are expected to release additional information Friday night.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a Missing Persons investigation concerning Kristin Jannotti, a senior in the Ithaca College School of Music.
Because Kristin lives off campus in the Town of Ithaca, the investigation is being led by the Sheriff’s Office. However, the Ithaca College Office of Public Safety is actively assisting in the investigation and aggressively working leads on this case.
Any member of the community who might have pertinent information related to Kristin’s whereabouts is asked to immediately provide it to the Sheriff’s Office by calling 607-272-2444.
The Office of Public Safety is in continuous contact with the Sheriff’s Office, and will provide updated information to the campus community as it becomes available. In the meantime, we are all hoping for a swift and positive resolution to this situation.
