(Dryden, NY – September 23, 2016) On September 23, 2016, at about 10:12 p.m., New York State Police at Ithaca arrested William B. Oliver, 42, of Dryden, NY for the felony of assault 2nd degree, the misdemeanors of resisting arrest, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, criminal mischief 4th degree and the violation of harassment 2nd degree.
This arrest occurred after troopers responded to a Tompkins County 911 report of a dispute at a home on Bills Way in the Town of Dryden. An investigation determined that during a dispute, Oliver pushed one victim and choked another. Oliver then damaged a door and struck one of the victim’s with a piece of wood before walking away. He tried to run away when arrested by troopers, but was caught and handcuffed.
Oliver was arraigned in the Town of Groton court and was remanded to the Tompkins County jail in lieu of $3,000 cash bail or $6,000 property bond. His next court date in the Town of Dryden is on September 29, 2016.
