ITHACA, NY – Danica Patrick, the most successful female racer in NASCAR history, will be visiting Ithaca Wegmans before she heads off to compete at this weekend’s NASCAR event in Watkins Glen.

Patrick will be at Ithaca Wegmans on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. to meet fans and sign autographs. The event is free, but to attend you must get a ticket by visiting the customer service desk. To get one you’ll need to have a Shopper’s Club Card or to sign up for one.

In addition to be a racer, Patrick is something of a gourmand. She studied at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Napa Valley, competed in the Food network show Chopped and often includes cooking and food in promotional events.

Patrick has competed in at least the Watkins Glen racing events since she started her professional racing career in 2005.

Patrick was the fourth ever woman to race in the Indy 500. She gained fame in the male-dominated sport as the only woman to win the Indy Japan 300, and the highest finishes woman at the Indy 500 (she placed 3rd) and Daytona 500 (8th).
