ITHACA, NY – Toasty Italian sandwiches and cheesy pasta drenched in Sunday sauce — welcome to Gola Osteria’s takeout menu.

Ithaca Voice Dining visited Gola for a taste of Italian-American comfort foods like meatball subs and baked fusilli.

For folks missing classics that used to be prepared at Centini’s Coddington Restaurant on South Hill, look no further than the Quarry Arms building.

The pizza burger sub, (featured image above) contains house-made hot Italian sausage, roasted peppers, tomato sauce and mozzarella.

“It’s kind of an Ithaca thing,” Chef Sam Epps said.

It was one of the most popular items at the Coddington, and Joe Centini in Gola’s kitchen is still making it five nights a week.

The pizza burger sub and all other to go items are served with a side salad, and dinner to go items also include a side of bread.

In September, Gola will begin offering takeout lunch. Joining the menu will be eggplant parmesan, as either a sandwich or dinner platter.
