ITHACA, NY – Two Ithaca restaurants have been nominated for a competition to determine the best burger in Upstate New York.
Run by newyorkupstate.com, the competition aims to find the best burger in each of three broad upstate regions: Western, Central and Eastern. Ithaca currently has two entries in the Central list: Ithaca Ale House and Glenwood Pines Restaurant.
The two are up against 10 other nominees in Central NY and 28 others overall. Each list will be narrowed down to two winners, with the six finalists being evaluated by the site’s judges. A winner will be selected at the end of July.
The polls are upen until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday.
At the time of this writing, Glenwood Pines (13.9 perecent of the vote) and The Ithaca Ale House (10.3 percent) are trailing behind the Blarney Stone in Syracuse (17.9 percent) and Belmar Pub in Binghamton (17.6 percent).
Ithaca, sadly, failed to make a mark on the site’s Upstate’s Best Pizza competition last month.
