VARNA, N.Y. — A vehicle crashed in to a pole Friday morning on the 900 block of Dryden Road in Varna, closing both lanes of traffic, an official said.
The crash happened around 8:09 a.m. in Varna on Route 366, between Mt. Pleasant Road and Forest Home Drive, a Tompkins County 911 official said.
The dispatcher said the electric pole is down in the road, meaning the area will be likely be closed for several hours. She called the area a “mess” as New York State Police troopers and other police agencies handle the scene and redirect traffic. NYSEG officials are also at the crash.
It’s unclear if there were any major injuries involved during the wreck.
