ENFIELD, NY – On Tuesday, New York State Police arrested 70 year old Virginia Bryant, of Enfield, NY for Driving While Intoxicated.

Bryant serves on the Enfield Town Board as a Councilperson.

According to a news release from the New York State Police, the arrest came after troopers responded to investigate of a one car property damage accident that occurred in the parking lot of the Dandy Mini Mart located on Mecklenburg Rd in the Town of Enfield.

During the investigation, Troopers determined that Bryant was intoxicated at the time of her involvement in the accident. Bryant submitted to a breath test which showed her to have a BAC of 0.17%.

According to a WHCU report, Bryant was arrested again on Friday, July 8 for the same offense on Podunk Road in the Town of Ulysses. According to police, she was involved in a property damage accident and then left the scene. Bryant had a BAC of 0.18% at the time of that incident.

Bryant was released on tickets returnable to the Town of Enfield Court on Monday, July 11. According to WHCU, she’d due in Ulysses Town Court next Monday, July 18.
