DANBY, N.Y. –Multiple crews responded to an early morning blaze in the town of Danby Saturday morning, officials said.

The fire was reported on the 1500 block of Danby Road  at 1:57 a.m., a Tompkins County 911 dispatcher said.

The dispatcher said the fire was reported to have possibly started in a shed, and a social media post from the Ithaca Fire Department indicted that a home at the scene was “heavily damaged by fire.”

No injuries were reported at the scene and IFD stated that the Red Cross is assisting those who lived in the home find a place to stay.

The Dany Volunteer Fire Company, West Danby Fire and Rescue,  Ithaca Fire Department, Brooktondale Volunteer Fire Company,  Newfield Fire Company,  Candor Fire Deoartment and Spencer Fire Department  responded to the scene. The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department and Bangs Ambulance were also at the fire.
