Saturday, June 18

Gorges Ithaca Half Marathon

The race sets off from the West side of the Ithaca Commons, heads towards the inlet on the Waterfront Trail before climbing into Cornell Heights and back through Fall Creek.

The post-race party on the Commons will have music, food and bands from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. following the race. Food and drinks by M&T Bank, Aid stations provided by Cayuga Medical Center.

Registration is closed, but come watch and stay for the party!

8th Annual All Euro Meet Car Show

Show your own vehicle for $15 at the door, or simply stroll among the cars, ranging from stock vintage 1960’s to most recent models.

There will be door prizes, as well as prizes for vehicle entrants. Hosted by the Central NY Chapter of Volvo Club of America, proceeds benefiting the Ithaca Children’s Garden.

The Cayuga Nature Center hosts a lively day for all ages including: a live animal program and feeding, Summer Camp open house, and a bake sale.

Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth commemorates the celebration of African Americans from slavery.

The Southside Community center will host food vendors and booths from local business and non-profits, as well as games, a fashion show, youth talent showcase, live music, activities, raffles, prizes, and more.

Outside, kids can enjoy, live entertainment, face painting and a bounce castle. Indoors, there will also be free business and professional development workshops

Hopshire’s third birthday will feature barbecue from Smokin’ Pete, special tappings, and live bands playing throughout the day.

“Big Upstate” will be playing reggae from 1 – 3 p.m., and Iron Horse will play Southern rock from 4 – 6 p.m.

Hopshire will host special beer tastings every hour at the 30 minute mark. All beers will be available via $5 tickets sold in the tasting room.

The 21st Century Library Campaign concludes with the public unveiling of the “Lego library,” activities and refreshments.

Hosted by The Tompkins County Public Library, and the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation, LEGO Star Wars designer Luis Gomez Piedrahita will also speak via Skype about his experience designing Star Wars sets.

Runway 5k

The Runway 5K kicks off at 9 a.m., with a pancake breakfast for all runners provided by The East Hill Flying Club.

Pre-register available here. Race Day registrations are $20, from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m.

The race is limited to 515 entries. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the SPCA of Tompkins County.

For non-runners, it will be a day filled with flight including: honor flights for veterans, discovery flights, and a visit from the Cornell Raptor Program.

There will also be an afternoon barbecue, as well as opportunities to explore a classic car exhibit and a C-40 airplane.
