ITHACA, NY. — Since the end of February, my husband Greg and  I, have been working on getting a new sports bottle to every student and staff member in the ICSD. As of today’s date, May 5th, 2016, we have distributed a NEW sports bottle to Enfield, Caroline, South Hill, Fall Creek and BJM elementary schools.

We have bottles on order for the remaining 3 elementary schools. They should be dropped off hopefully in the next week! After that drop off, it brings our total number of sports bottles received and distributed to ALL the elementary schools, both students and staff to just under 3000 new sports bottles!

But we still need about 3000 more for both the middle schools and the high school. To say we are humbled and grateful for the support of this community is an understatement. We could not have done this without the generous support of these local businesses and individuals…

But I also come to you all with a request. And it’s a big one. We about half way to our ultimate goal of 6000 new sports bottles. We need some assistance getting those final 3000 bottles.

If you or your company would like to donate, you can do one of two things. You can donate new unused water bottles or you can give a monetary donation. With cash donations, we are purchasing new BPA free 20 oz sports bottles through a friend and local business owner, Jon Gould at PSP unlimited.  You can contact me, Tracy Goodrich, at sully143@aol.com to arrange a drop off or pick up of product donations or monetary donations. The only request we have for product donation is that they be BPA free.

We have also set up a donation sight for those who wish to donate that way. It hasn’t been used much, as people would rather we get their entire donation amount. We picked www.youcaring.com because they seemed to have the lowest fees associated with it. Just search the youcaring sight using key word “ICSD” and our site will pop up! If you would rather send it by paypal, I can provide that as well when you contact me.Sadly, the water situation for all the schools is not going to be fixed overnight. We are hoping that our little fundraiser, all the students will have a sports bottle for the duration of the water issue. Any funds or products that exceed our goal of 6000 sports bottle will go to either the school for other needs associated with the children or another not for profit, specifically designed around and for students in Tompkins County.

Again, thank you all for your support up to this point. We hope that ALL students and staff have a water bottle by the end of May!
