According to the statement, the student was walking when a man grabbed him by the shirt from behind and demanded his wallet. The victim then turned over the cash he had. The two men began fighting after the suspect tried to steal the man’s phone, too. The student was then punched in the face while the other man fled from the scene.

The robber allegedly displayed a small knife or blade during the incident.

Officers responded to the 100 block of East State Street around 1:37 a.m. where they said the victim declined medical treatment.

Police said they were unable to find the suspect after searching the area.
